Unraveling the White Cocoon is the precursor to Lifting the White Veil. From the standpoint of the book trade the two books are just that--two different books. But Lifting the White Veil contains 98% of the same content as Unraveling the White Cocoon. From the reader's standpoint, it is very nearly the same book.

History and Current status

The original book, Unraveling the White Cocoon, was published 2001 with a print run of 500 copies. Well beyond expectation, it sold out in 6 months, generating several reviews and developing a modest following. The author and publishing company, however, disagreed on terms for a new print run. After further discussion the author reacquired the publishing rights and made arrangements with Crandall, Dostie & Douglass to publish the new book. The book was redesigned, re-titled, and re-edited. Lifting the White Veil became available in September 2002.

Unraveling the White Cocoon is currently out of print and copies are virtually unavailable even on the used book market (The author still holds a small quantity of the original title as collector's items). It will never be republished under that title.

Lifting the White Veil is currently available in quantity, and will continue in print so long as there is a demand for it. Current interest in the book suggests it will be available for many years.

Listings in reading lists, bibliographies, etc.

Lifting the White Veil is a replacement work for Unraveling the White Cocoon. It should be used instead of (not "along with") Unraveling the White Cocoon. It should replace Unraveling the White Cocoon in suggested reading lists and bibliographies. Since Unraveling the White Cocoon is no longer available, listing it will only frustrate readers. Lifting the White Veil is readily available, and is a valuable resource.

Will Lifting the White Veil go out of print?

No. Not for several years.
